BIOPHILIA: Shattering Illusion
 
 

 

Biophilia: Shattering Illusion stands as to not only challenge our environmental awareness but also to revel in our profound connection to nature. The showcase spotlights a diverse array of artists from various backgrounds, all united by a shared mission: the preservation of our planet through imaginative and creative pursuits.

Within this exhibition, artists employ a spectrum of approaches to contribute to environmental conservation. From utilizing sustainable materials to engaging in collaborative ventures with local communities for the repurposing of non-organic  waste, and even instigating impactful movements in far-flung regions such as Tibet, each artist brings a unique perspective to the global conversation on ecological consciousness. What sets the participants of this exhibition apart is their unwavering dedication to infusing eco-consciousness into their artistic practices.

'Biophilia: Shattering Illusion' not only serves as a visual feast but also as a powerful call to action, urging viewers to reflect on their own connection to nature and the role creativity can play in shaping a sustainable future.

A Symphony of Contemporary Perspectives
 


'A Symphony of Contemporary Perspectives' endeavors to peel back the layers of artistic expression, immersing itself in the intricate styles and inspirations that shape the individual creative odysseys of each participating artist. Every artist contributes a distinct layer to the narrative, revealing unique perspectives that both challenge and inspire.

 

The exhibition delves into a rich tapestry of themes, ranging from technology and social dynamics, suburban life, to virtual and physical realities, and the nuances of popular culture. Each artwork within this symphony serves as a portal into the extraordinary latent within the ordinary, urging viewers to perceive the world through these unique perspectives.

 

Participating artists: Bandu Darmawan, Erwin Windu, Galih Adika, Wildan Indra Sugara, Sillyndris, and Trio Muharam.

Jumaadi
‘MCA Collection: Artist in Focus’

Jumaadi is currently featured in the "Museum of Contemporary Art Australia’s Collection: Artists in Focus" exhibition. This showcase comprises four paintings on cotton cloth, which were acquired by the museum in 2020.

 

Jumaadi's works explore themes  of birth and death, ritual and ceremony, as well as love and despair. His artistic process, driven by intuition, mirrors the cyclical nature he explores within his paintings. This distinctive approach yields a compelling body of work that harmonizes with the interconnected rhythms of human existence.

Tantra, known for her artistic prowess often characterized as "painting on an architectural scale," presents a collection of artworks that seamlessly intertwine with the neoclassical architecture of the Manor.

 

Tantra's distinctive approach involves the utilization of organic forms and vibrant colors, creating a dynamic synergy with the Manor's timeless architectural aesthetics. As visitors traverse the hallow halls of Pitzhanger Manor, they are enveloped by Tantra's playful yet serene artworks,  The exhibition not only showcases the artist's skillful manipulation of space and color but also invites patrons to engage with the intricate interplay between contemporary art and historical architecture. This fusion of organic forms against a neoclassical backdrop offers a captivating exploration of artistic expression within the venerable walls of Pitzhanger Manor.
