ISA Art Gallery is taking part in S.E.A. Focus as part of Art Week Singapore. Led by STPI, S.E.A Focus showcases the best of contemporary Southeast Asian art, featuring 22 of the top galleries in Southeast Asia. ISA will be presenting a monumental 5 piece panel by A. Sebastianus Hartanto, weaving photographic images with batik processes to convey how his existence came to be through synthesizing his personal family history and ritualized culture.

 

If you couldn't make it to Singapore, you can still view Hartanto’s solo show curated by Tan Siuliat Wisma 46 now until 26 January.

More news from Singapore Art Week, ISA is collaborating with Metis and Sullivan+Strumpf for the third installment of Enter Eden featuring Ines Katamso together with Lindy Lee and Lynda Draper. This private exhibition will transform a collector's residence into a lush garden of fine art pieces that explore the junctures of the sacred feminine, humanity and nature. Katamso will be showing pieces that draw from mythological and pre-historic references to propose a sustainable future.Her artistic approach explores the delicate connection of culture and nature and what it means to balance the two.

Gamelatron is featured in Resonance in Light, an interactive light and sound installation at Herons Art. Gamelatron is a sonic kinetic sculpture featuring traditional Indonesian musical instrument, gamelan, which is paired with mechanical robotic parts. The result is a perfect blend of tradition and modernity, the East and the West. The exhibition also features a large scale volumetric piece, a musically responsive animation, and wall-sized reactive light works by other Herons artists.

The Gamelatron is also featured in HERO, an immersive dreamscape of forest mythology, set under the spectacle of the Northern Lights. This exhibition is a collaborative effort by artists, composers, and producers who have joined together to create an immersive storytelling that is unique within the walls of HERO. Kuffner takes the audience into a peaceful, meditative mindspace through his healing sound composition. You can experience the magic right in the heart of Rockefeller Center, NYC.
