Rajawali Selatan Raya No.3, Mt. North Sahari, Jakarta. as Venue Partner, a well-known art institution started as a gallery in 1983 and developed into a private museum in Jakarta. In an area of 4,000 m2, a wide selection of works of art from selected artists can be enjoyed by art lovers.
This exhibition displays the lines and strokes of artists who work with abstract methods but have their character and uniqueness through abstracts. Abstractism is known to have emerged in the early 20th century after cubism overhauled established space forms. The trend of abstract style is divided into two broad lines: geometric abstraction, which includes expressions based on straight line elements, and geometric shapes to shapes that describe rational and intellectual characters. The second is a non-geometric abstraction (organic), which includes organic expressions and bio-formic to intuitive.
Drawn from the collection and curation of the ISA Art Gallery, the artists in this exhibition explore the possibilities of blending geometric and organic shapes to create compositions. Various approaches can be seen from A. Sebastian, who plays with lines and minimalism, Sinta Tantra with geometric and organic compositions, to Hannah Shin's abstraction of gestures and Yuki Nakayama's more conceptual approach with architectural elements. The work of Taufiq HT and Yogie Ginanjar is unique with abstract objects, and finally, Marissa Ng is more focused on abstract expressionism. This exhibition showcases several abstract artists who use precision geometry and natural organic shapes or objects to communicate themes and gases by discussing visual forms of color and vivid lines.
Alexander Sebastianus Hartanto (b. 1995) sees ethnographic research as a mode of existence of experience. His works explore the decontextualization of material cultures and how they are perceived, understood, and ritualized in practice. A.Sebastian plays with abstraction in concepts through the lines in his weaving. Gesture Abstraction with Hannah Shin is an international South Korean artist who lives and works between Seoul, Jakarta, and London. Born in Seoul, Hannah Shin brings to her work an acute awareness of oriental sign-making traditions but in a very contemporary guise. Inspired by the importance of light, her paintings incorporate a very confident use of line, color and balance to convey a sense of vibrancy and energy as she is drawn to their layered surfaces. Marissa R Ng Born in Selangor, Malaysia, in 1977, Marisa Ng is a full-time artist. She earned a Certificate in Figurative Art from the Academy of Arts, Culture & National Heritage, Malaysia. Before her foray into abstract art, Marisa had made more than 1,800 figurative sketches. Marisa's painting style has evolved toward an abstract expressionist "because it emphasizes spontaneous, automatic, or subconscious creation." "Abstract for me is the purest art form because it comes from a person's soul or mind, " he quotes.
A solid geometric abstract is present in Sinta Tantra's work and also presents a geometric abstract work. British artist of Balinese descent, Sinta Tantra, was born in New York in 1979. Known for her fascination with color and composition, Tantra's work are an experiment in scale and dimension, hybridity of pop and formalism, and exploration of identity and aesthetics. Taufiq HT shares daily life that is close to the audience through the composition of objects he presents in his works. Taufiq Born in 1990, Mojokerto, East Java. With a background in art education in Yogyakarta, he explores various techniques and media as a visual language, a blend of creation, and art artificial. He combined imaginary images that appear before and during the process of working on the work and then arranged them to achieve the expected visual perfection. Abstraction of objects presented through the work of Yogie Achmad Ginanjar (Bandung, 12-05-1981) is an artist (painter) and Indonesian Curator.
