Aiman's large canvases portray fragments of crystals bathed in the fleeting luminescence of twilight—a liminal period delicately straddling between darkness and light. Initially resembling landscape depictions, they gradually reveal themselves as metaphorical self-portraits. For Aiman, the seaside during his formative years transcended mere backdrop; it was a realm of guidance and reflective conversations with his father. The sea serves as the backdrop to the nuanced dialogues that unfolded, while its depiction during twilight heightens the tension between acceptance and rejection, possibility and closure. Through these paintings, Aiman unveils states of being that oscillate between chaos, fragility, tranquility, and peace, illustrating how individual experiences and memories shape the evolution of identity. He acknowledges that our identities are alive and constantly evolving over time. The multifaceted aspect of identity mirrors the fractal landscape viewed through the changing light of twilight.
