Dabi Arnasa Indonesian, b. 1997
Arnasa’s signature concern with the interconnection between humans and the environment pulses throughout the work. The figures, both present and peripheral, appear caught between worlds: one rooted in ancient ecological memory, the other rushing forward in linear, industrial ambition. Yet the earth beneath remains textured and alive, suggesting that nature’s cycles endure, even when paved over.
Through surreal scale shifts and layered symbolism, Long Road questions the permanence of our built environments and gently reminds us that all paths eventually return to the land."
